Volunteer Positions

The Panetta Institute offers an opportunity for volunteers to contribute meaningful service to the community, largely by becoming involved in the Institute’s longest-running program, Monterey County Reads.

Volunteers for the Monterey County Reads program serve at elementary schools throughout the county, working with Panetta Institute staff members to participate in regular one-to-one reading sessions with selected children in first through third grades. Volunteers are sponsored by members of the Monterey County Reads Consortium, which includes businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, non-profits, service clubs and other groups, and undergo orientation and training by Panetta Institute personnel.
